Kinghams Art Pottery

George Kingham

George Kingham has been established in the antiques trade for over 25 years and has dealt with some of the finest and most sought after pieces in the antiques world.

George’s interest in general antiques developed from his childhood, spending time helping his father on his stall on the Portobello Road in London. This initial interest flourished whilst travelling Europe as a young man where he frequented museums and art galleries that would later fuel his passion for the decorative arts.

Starting with a small stand on Camden Lock, George progressed toward antique fairs all over England, primarily specialising in Doulton Lambeth. After a research visit to the V&A examining European porcelain such as Meissen and Sèvres, George stumbled upon an exhibition of Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre and was instantly fascinated by its overwhelming beauty and complexity. This quickly inspired him to start a collection and explore other factories of the same era, in particular the most celebrated and distinguished craftsman such as William de Morgan, Pilkingtons Royal Lancastrian Pottery, Ruskin Pottery, William Moorcroft and the Martin Brothers.

A distinguished reputation, extensive knowledge, integrity and passion have established George as the market’s leading dealer of British Art Pottery. Now settled in the heart of the Cotswolds and trading as Kinghams Art Pottery, he has successfully built and maintained  relationships with a loyal clientele of major and casual collectors alike.

Kinghams Art Pottery regularly exhibits at major antiques fairs in this country and overseas; the exhibition calendar can be found on the Exhibitions section of this website.  George acts as consultant in British Art Pottery to many of the major auction houses and antique fairs in this country and in the USA.  In between fairs, a selection of his stock can be seen on show in the Cotswolds at John Noott Galleries, High Street, Broadway.

All pieces are guaranteed for authenticity and free from restoration or damage unless otherwise stated.  In the unusual event that a purchased item has been incorrectly represented or a client is not completely satisfied, a full refund will be available providing we have been notified in writing within 14 days of purchase.
